You can enjoy a fine steak, a succulent pork loin, a rack of lamb that is unforgettable, a variety of chicken dishes, as well as a large selection of pasta dishes. We also cater to the vegetarian. Diners can enjoy a leisurely meal in the cozy dining room or on the outside deck, right on the shore of beautiful Bigfork Bay. Established in 1993
We started out with a quaint small Cafe, seating up to 60 guests in our cozy dining room. However, during summer time we became well known as the only place serving food on the deck overlooking Bigfork Bay. The Inn as well as the restaurant have been under the same ownership since conception. The owner, Margrit brought her European tastes in architecture and design as well as the Swiss hospitality to Bigfork.
Our culinary creations have enjoyed a raving revue.
We specialize in preparing our dishes with lots of spices, loving care, continental tastes and a lack of calories.
The Swan River Inn has gone through many stages of expanding and remodeling, matching the pace of the rapidly growing popularity of Bigfork and Montana.
We started offering Montana Weddings at the Bohemian Grove in 1999. We were successful from day one. Our elegant but casual atmosphere has impressed the most discriminating guests. Our European hospitality is appreciated by all guests.
We pay attention to details, deal with the unforeseen and you can rest assured that you and your guests will be treated like royalty.
To accommodate the ever increasing demand for a larger facility for all occasions, in 2004 we expanded the Swan River Inn by 2 floors. We added a large Ball room connected with an outside deck, an intimate bar and dance floor.
To take advantage of the famous Big Sky Country, we created the Rooftop gardens. It’s nestled in the crown of a magnificent willow tree, potted plants are lined up along the rails and you’ll enjoy the most glorious view of Bigfork Bay and Flathead Lake.
Best of all, we are a full service Inn.
We feature 8 theme suites on the premises. Park your car and walk to every gallery, gift shop or the Play House in the village.

Portofino the Italian Rhapsody, English Tudor Pub, Arts and Craft attic.
All three suite feature small kitchens for an extended stay.
3 Houses:
Trapper Cabin: 2 miles from Inn, just soooo cute and rustic.
Carriage House: Ideal for the adventurer, located 8 miles out of town on 60 glorious acres with ponds, meadows, mountain views and wildlife abundance.
This log cabin is suitable for a larger group.
McCormick’s Country Inn: a large Guest house located in Ferndale, only 2 miles from the Inn.
Separated Guest house, come and go as you wish.
Convention and Wedding facility:
Ballroom
Our main ballroom is connected with a dance floor and the bar. It accommodates up to 150 sit down dinner guests. This large room is surrounded by windows on all sides and a covered deck on the Bay side is connected with large sliding glass doors. Seating capacity on the deck is an additional 50 people.
Rooftop Gardens:
One Story up, we feature the Rooftop Gardens. Half of this area is covered.
It accommodates up to 100 sit-down guests.
This location is ideal for wedding ceremonies or a mid summer night dinner ball.
Bay view Terrace:
We also offer a room/private deck combo for the more intimate dinner party. On the street level we converted the old cafe dining room into the Geisha and Safari suites. They are connected by a large covered deck overlooking Bigfork Bay. This is the space that made our Swan River Inn Cafe famous.
This space can now be rented for private parties up to 50 people. We provide all the trimmings, including a first class chef. Rental of this space can be arranged on a daily bases from 4 pm till noon the next day as well as by the week. Both suites sleep 6 guests.
Grotto
The Grotto is an intimate cozy room, reminding you of old Europe. Its vaulted ceilings and alcoves give this room the warm feel of good times and friendship. This room seats up to 30 guests.
